In its 15-year history, PRo Kansas has kept 22 million pounds of recycling out of landfills. Paper recycling alone has saved nearly 50 million gallons of water, 80,000 barrels of oil, and 120,000 trees. Over 2,000 families and businesses visit the recycling center each month, and the numbers continue to grow.

Grab your accepted recyclables and visit our facility. While you’re here, take home a free book from Gordon’s Book Nook. Group tours of the center can be scheduled, and educators are welcome to arrange class field trips.

Named in memory of Gordon MacKay, who devoted nearly 10 years to making our used books available to others free of charge.
Browse the ever changing offerings of our library located in the southeast corner of the PRo Kansas Recycling Center. You will find both hard cover or paperbacks in a wide variety of topics. You may take them just to read and return for someone else to enjoy, or you may keep it in your collection.
This place is A M A Z I N G! What a valuable resource! I discovered this place this summer and use it regularly! I drive from Augusta because a recycling resource is not available to our area. I sponsor a student council and will be spearheading support for PRoKansas!
